SUSAN GABRIEL POTTER, Principal

Susan Gabriel Potter is the second generation to take the helm of ISU Bob Gabriel Co. Insurance, founded by her father, the late Bob Gabriel.

“When you love what you do, you do it well,” was the motto of founder Bob Gabriel. Susan Potter is steering the company on the same course as her father, guided by the principles of integrity, loyalty and service both to her clients and to her community.

Susan earned her Bachelors degree at California State University Long Beach, with a dual major in Education and Psychology, and a minor in Business. Upon graduation, she worked in the Education field for a period of time before deciding to join the family business in 1983.

Susan now leads a team of dedicated professionals, all of whom strive to provide the finest personal customer service, while ensuring that their clients are properly protected.

Susan is very proud to be among the Family-Owned businesses in Santa Monica. Her husband, Pat Potter, a graduate of Loyola and her son, Bryan Potter, a graduate of the University of San Diego are part of the management team. Together they will continue the philosophy of outstanding service and community involvement.

A native of California, Susan was born and lives in Santa Monica with her husband Pat Potter. She has two sons, Patrick M. Potter and Bryan R. Potter

MARTIN FLANNERY, Vice President of Marketing & Sales

Martin Flannery, MBA, WCCA, WCCP, Vice President of Marketing & Sales – has over 20 years of full time cross-functional experience in Property & Casualty insurance, within and outside of California.  He is well recognized within the business and insurance communities for his strong skills in risk management, claims management, and loss control.  Martin is an expert in workers’ compensation and has worked successfully with thousands of clients in helping them reduce their workers’ compensation costs.  He holds himself to the standard that agents need to be the best in their field to help businesses during these economically challenging times.

Martin holds a Bachelors of Business in Mangement from California Lutheran University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.  He is certified by the California Department of Insurance to adjust workers’ compensation claims in California and holds the WCCA and WCCP workers’ compensation designations.  Martin also holds certification in Strategic Negotiations from The Straus Institute, Pepperdine University School of Law.

Working both as an entrepreneur and for corporate America has provided Martin with a deep understanding of what is important to small and large companies and their employees.  He is very conscious of the obstacles each one faces and always careful in analyzing the specific needs of each client.  Martin is very proud to have the opportunity to help companies overcome their risk management challenges.
